Rubik Buddy

Your camera, your phone.

Scanning and solving happen on your phone. This policy explains the camera permission, what the app stores, and why nothing is sent anywhere.

The short version

Rubik Buddy uses your camera to read the colours of a Rubik's Cube. Camera frames are processed on your device and are never saved, uploaded or shared. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no internet permission. Freevia does not receive any data from the app.

Camera

The app asks for the Android camera permission so that it can show a live preview and read sticker colours. Each frame is analysed in memory to extract colour values and is then discarded. No photo or video is stored, and the app does not request the internet permission, so nothing can be sent from the app.

Data the app stores

The app does not write scan history, images or personal data to storage. The cube state you are working on exists only while the app is open. Android backup is disabled for the app.

Third-party services and SDKs

The shipped app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or Firebase SDK. Firebase App Distribution is a developer tool used only to send test builds; it is not part of the app on your phone. If you install the app through Google Play, Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to the store, not to the app.

Children

The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with an updated review date.
