How it works

One device. Three ways to control it.

Connect the device to either a Windows laptop or an Android phone running QC Remote. Use either app directly, connect a local AI client on Windows, or enable the optional cloud relay for remote AI access from either host.

AI access stays under your control

Choose the maximum access level in QC Remote. The host enforces it independently of the AI app, and confirmation gates still apply.

The Quad Cortex remains attached to its chosen host. Manual control works on both platforms; local AI clients are desktop-only. Remote AI can reach either a paired Windows or Android host, while persistent or higher-risk actions remain approval-gated.

System requirements

  • Quad Cortex and a USB data connection
  • Windows x64 laptop or PC
  • Android 7.0+ phone with USB host support
  • Internet only for remote AI access

Manual control on either platform and local AI on Windows do not require the cloud relay.

AI app compatibility

  • Local: any MCP-compatible desktop AI app on Windows
  • Remote: any AI app supporting MCP connectors
  • Examples: ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Antigravity, Bionic and Jan
  • Codex CLI, VS Code and other MCP clients

Available features vary by AI app and its MCP support.

How to use it

Operate the rig yourself—or work with AI.

QC Remote is a complete manual controller first. Add an AI client when a conversation is faster than hunting through menus, comparing parameters or building a signal chain from scratch.

01 / PERFORM

Control the device directly

Switch Scenes, engage blocks, edit parameters, set tempo, tune and see the live Grid from the Windows or Android app.

02 / BUILD

Construct signal chains

Add and configure blocks across the four-row Grid, route signals and shape Scenes manually or with an AI assistant that understands the device model.

Build a clean-to-lead rig with one Scene for each gain stage.
03 / ORGANIZE

Maintain your preset library

Browse, recall and organize presets and setlists, keep local working copies, and use AI to help audit or explain what is already in a rig.

Find the presets that use this amp and group them into a setlist.
04 / EXPLORE

Use AI as a tone assistant

Ask for practical adjustments, learn what a model is based on, or scaffold a starting rig for the character of a familiar song—then refine it by ear.

Give me a starting chain for a spacious, edge-of-breakup chorus tone.
You remain in control. AI actions use explicit, allowlisted tools with live state checks; changes that persist or carry more risk require confirmation at the host.
Why we built it

Make a remarkable device even more accessible.

QC Remote began with a simple idea: owners should be able to explore and control their device from the screen and interface that suit the moment.

01

Control by conversation

Use chat or voice in a compatible AI app to inspect your rig, change a Scene or ask for help shaping a sound.

02

Learn without hardware

Explore the virtual device and practice building rigs online or offline, even when a Quad Cortex is not connected.

03

Work across screens

Build and organize presets at your desk, then use your phone for focused control beside the device.

04

Build in the open

Share a free controller and AI interface that device owners can inspect, use and improve together.

A note to Neural DSP

You built an incredible device. We hope this software helps more people enjoy and appreciate how versatile it really is.

QC Remote is free, open source and made with deep respect for the instrument you created—and for the possibilities thoughtful AI control can unlock.
